AIGeoscope, a weekly view of what's making news and capturing attention in the world of geoscience. AIGeoscope presents a view of what's been happening in geoscience each week, compiled from the AIG web site and social media.  AIGeoscope is published by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. The articles presented in each issue of AIGeoscope have been selected from a range of social media sources and content presented via the AIG website.

AIG strives to be a strong and agile advocate for its members that actively promotes the continuous improvement of ethical and professional practices followed by members.  From time to time, some articles that are contrary to these views will be presented to expose unscientific and unethical practice, promote discussion and, ultimately discredit this form of misinformation. The wide range of content presented in AIGeoscope demonstrates the breadth and depth of geoscientific and professional pursuits of AIG members.

AIG provides continuous professional development opportunities for members through talks on topical geoscience issues, seminars, conferences and access to educational resources, including a dedicated Edumine campus.  A bursary program for both undergraduate and postgraduate students supports geoscience education at Australian universities.

AIG also provides financial and other forms of in-kind support to organisations developing resources and geoscience teaching capabilities at secondary school level throughout Australia.  This work is supported both by corporate sponsors and the AIG Education Foundation.
