CalSky was founded in 1991 by Arnold Barmettler to offer amateur astronomers a new way to plan their observing sessions and to consult scientist and industry regarding questions related to astronomy and celestial mechanics. We are pleased that you find our service meaningful and useful. We also look forward to your acknowledgements and letters to the editor. In order we can offer this service to you in the future.
This astronomical calendar contains thousands of events per day for every point on Earth. Since you probably are interested in only a few of these events, we let you personalize your Astro-Calendar, which you can do by choosing your appropriate user level (using the pull-down menu in the yellow box to the right) and then selecting additional categories that interest you (or deselecting those that don't) from among the four dozen offered below. To change the location and see more choices, click on the "Intro" tab, above, to reach the "Personalize your CalSky" page.In parentheses are forced limits for the maximum calculation interval.
The celestial calendar is to be found further below on this page and will appear within some seconds after pressing the Go!-Button (depending on the complexity of your selections). The calendar is created especially for you. The higher your user level, the more complex objects you selected, the longer it does take to calculate. Please do not press the reload-button; the calculations will take significantly longer.
