Training is available in Texas. The Midwest GeoSciences Group began in 1996 with the idea that consultants could significantly improve subsurface characterization using a few simple improvements to their approach and boring logs. Tim Kemmis and Dan Kelleher founded MidwestGeo and conducted the first course... Improving Hydrogeologic Investigations, Part 1 ... Site Geologic Characterization in Glaciated Areas.
Overwhelming positive feedback compelled them to offer a second course .. Advances in Groundwater Movement Through Glacial Successions.
They learned that professionals benefited from their courses because they provide meaningful solutions to problems faced during environmental and engineering projects. They listened and learned and thus a portfolio of field guides were developed to help field staff think on their feet as the drilling and sampling program progresses.
Other courses and field tools followed and today they have conducted more than 50 on-site courses in 20 states plus Canada, Mexico and Australia. They ship field tools and offer webinars around the world, far beyond the geographic boundaries of the Upper Midwestern United States.
