Resource thumbnail Doug Messier ACCD (United Rocket and Space Corporation, is a state corporation Roscosmos) has signed an agreement with the company 3D Bioprinting Solutions, a resident of Skolkovo innovation center, the cooperation within the framework of which it is planned to create a unique bioprinter magnetic biofabrikatsii tissue and organ constructs in weightlessness on the International Space Station (ISS). The document was signed by General Director of ACCD Yuri Vlasov and General Director of 3D Bioprinting Solutions Michael Bakanov. The scientific part of the project will be in charge Professor, PhD, scientific director of the company 3D Bioprinting Solutions Vladimir Mironov. Creating a magnetic bioprinter allow print space tissue and organ constructs are hypersensitive to the effects of space radiation, Sentinel organs (eg thyroid) for bio-monitoring of the negative effect of cosmic radiation in the conditions of a long stay in space and to develop preventive countermeasures. In the future, the technology of three-dimensional magnetic biopechati can be used to correct damaged tissues and organs of the astronauts during long space flights. On Earth this technology can be used for faster biopechati human tissues and organs. It is planned that bioprinter will be ready to be sent to the International Space Station by 2018. All work on the preparation and conduct of the experiment will be conducted in close cooperation with PJSC RSC Energia and SSC IMPB RAS. Yuri Vlasov, General Director of ACCD Create compact bioprinter for research on the effects of space radiation on human tissue and organs, and eventually the ability to print organs during manned missions in deep space, one more step to the era of human exploration of other planets. Youssef HESUANI, managing partner of the 3D Bioprinting Solutions ... Biopechat to the ISS in weightlessness provides a unique opportunity and allows the use of new approaches in tissue engineering and regenerative meds.
