This brochure summarizes Queensland uranium resource potential, potential areas to explore and current projects (as at May 2013). Uranium resources in Queensland are currently estimated at 165.95 million tonnes of ore with a uranium oxide (U3O8) content of 107,000 tonnes. Renewed interest in uranium as an energy source since 2005 has seen a revival of interest in exploration. Uranium mining projects will be encouraged by the government decision to introduce a best practice policy framework to support the recommencement of uranium mining in Queensland, Australia.
