Vancouver junior, North American Nickel said that its Greenland property is the remains of a gigantic, three-billion-year-old meteorite impact, and displays a similar geological formation that is found in the Sudbury Basin. The Mannitsoq project is 70 km long and up to 15 km wide with numerous historical high-grade nickel occurrences. The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland confirmed that the site is remains of meteor crater. Findings were just published in journal Earth and Planetary Science Letters. The Sudbury Basin is the site of the second-largest impact crater on Earth and is also home to one of the world's largest mining communities due to its massive resources of nickel, copper, platinum and gold.
