An assessment by the USGS of the geothermal resources in the U.S. Geothermal plants in operation in California, Hawaii, Alaska, Idaho, Nevada, Utah with a total installed generating capacity of more than 2,500 MWe. The mean estimated power production from undiscovered geothermal resources is 3 more than 30,000 MWe with an additional resource of more than 517,000 MWe from enhanced geothermal reservoirs.
