Sanderson reported in mid-August 2026 that extensive offshore wind deployment could “significantly alter” regional climates in northern Europe, impacting wind speeds and rainfall, according to new research.
Research can help inform planning for new offshore wind farms and ‘should not be interpreted as evidence against deployment,’ amid fossil fuel driven climate crisis.
