Uranium Unleashed reported in mid-May 2026 that the uranium price is heading to $200? The data suggests we are entering a structural squeeze unlike anything seen in the history of the nuclear industry. The inflation-adjusted peak of the last market cycle sits between $150 and $200 per pound, and today’s fundamental setup is arguably much stronger than it was in 2007.

With global nuclear capacity projected for a 3% to 4% compound annual growth rate, the world needs an additional 100 to 150 gigawatts of capacity over the next decade. In this video, we dive into the data-driven case for the uranium supercycle:

The Big Tech Catalyst: Why "hyperscalers" building data centers are now exploring direct investment and offtake agreements, potentially outbidding traditional utilities,.

The Death of "Above-Ground" Supply: For the first time, the market is entirely reliant on new production as mobile inventories have been exhausted. The Geopolitical Shift: Major production from the East is increasingly committed to sovereign nations like China and India, leaving the West in a tightening supply trap,. Peak Kazakhstan? Why the world’s largest producer is facing severe bottlenecks, from sulfuric acid shortages to declining ore grades, From the looming depletion of tier-one mines like Cigar Lake to the "value over volume" strategies of major producers, the road to $200 is being paved by a perfect storm of scarcity.

[Note: Kazakhstan and Australia and Nambia uranium deposits require sulphuric acids in their in-situ recovery systems (because of the high-Fe in the fluids and orebodies). The deposits in the U.S. do not use sulphuric acid, only O2 and CO2. Hence, if sulphuric supplies are interrupted, production of yellowcake decreases. Further, the project start-up times with in-situ uranium recovery projects require only about 3 to 4 years, while open-pit and underground mines in Canada require 8-10 years.]
