The meeting was framed as France securing a strategic uranium supply pivot after the ICSID-frozen SOMAIR dispute. What went unreported: Botswana's pre-feasibility study is not even finished yet. For anyone tracking uranium stocks, uranium mining equities, or the global nuclear fuel cycle, this gap matters.

A major state buyer with a structural supply hole is competing in an already-tight uranium spot price market, and its only publicly announced replacement is a decade away. The ~2,000 metric tonnes of uranium confiscated at SOMAIR and frozen by ICSID order remain inaccessible, compressing near-term supply further.
