Intermittent.Energy says ..."Finland uses minimal amount of gas. Just 152MW average in last 90 days. Not sure it sets the price on the margin even." (see here).

Robert Parker says ..."Yes, however Finland established the clear link between base load nuclear & PERMANENT low prices They did that in December when they got to 100 eu/MWh. Sure low Autumn demand helps but the relationship is clear Best of all - its ULTRA low carbon & doesn't stuff up the environment."

But, Dirkjan says ..."A large part of the prices is just gas becoming way less expensive in the discussed period in Europe. My country has a 61% price reduction in the same period. Without any change to the nuclear power plant here. Finland does have cheaper electricity now." (here).

Robert Parker responds by saying ..."Incredible outcome for Finland with Olkiluoto 3. They took charge of their grid and have insulated themselves from price volatility 75% drop in retail electricity prices plus ultra low emissions - that's what big baseload nuclear does."
