The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) is an international organization with over 31,000 members in 100-plus countries. The purpose of this Association is to advance the science of geology as it relates to the exploration, developemnt and production of the established energy resources, such as conventional oil and gas, coal, nuclear energy, and geothermal energy, as well the unconventional energy resources, such as coalbed methane, gas sands and shales, oil sands and shales, and the renewable energy resources, such as solar, winds, and other energy resources available on Earth, and the associated environmental and professional issues that are involved in all of the above.
