Tom Harris and Dr. Jay H.Lehr conducted a comprehensive interview with Michael D. Campbell, I2M's Chief Geologist and past Chairman of the AAPG's Energy Minerals Division's Uranium (Nuclear & REE) Committee for 2004 to 2021 regarding nuclear power and its resurgence in the energy picture in the U.S. and around the world. The weekend of Saturday and Sunday, September 3th and 4th, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY radio program was broadcast on America Out Loud Talk Radio.
The 54-minute interview ranged from discussions on the new reactors to why nuclear power outshines renewables for supplying the power grid and the news regarding the small nuclear reactors that will make major contributions in the decades ahead with their introduction by 2030 or before. They also discussed the safetey of existing large nuclear power plants and the factors that have held back nuclear power development in the past, notably because of fear-pandering by opposition groups. They also discussed the availablility of uranium supplies and rare-earth elements in the U.S. and Canada.
