Bartels, and three co-authors organized and led a geological excursion to South Greenland in 2013. This introduces the guidebook for one of several field trips offered in conjunction with the 12th SGA biennial meeting held in Uppsala, Sweden 12–15 August 2013.

The subjects covered and visited include:

• The Ketilidian orogen,
• The Amitsoq graphite deposit,
• The Nalunaq gold deposit,
• The Gardar province,
• The Ilímaussaq complex, and 
• Metallogeny of the Gardar province
