The U. S. Geological Survey reported on October 10, 2021 that Yellowstone Volcano has been rocked by 283 earthquakes as the USGS personnel investigates a continuous swarm of tremors. The Yellowstone volcano was rocked by more than 280 earthquakes last month, as U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists warned that some tremors continued into October.

Stretching over the states of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana, Yellowstone National Park is one of the most seismically active areas in the US. Yellowstone Park is home to the Yellowstone volcanic caldera, which has formed during several violent eruptions in the last 3.1 million years. And although there has been no significant volcanism in the park for about 70,000 years, Yellowstone continues to be rocked by thousands of earthquakes every year.

[Morton (of Eos) has a different slant on the area (more).]

[But what they didn't say is that the 700,000-year periodicity of "hot-spot" eruptions migrating from Idaho to this region is overdue ...You should be prepared to leave the area in a moments notice].
