From time to time, wind-turbine projects can fail for a number reasons: 1) catastrophic failure of gear-box due to excess/variable wind guts, 2) utility failure due low wind velocity creating low output to local utility "power grid" requiring expensive backup by main electrical grid, 3) O&M cost increases to maintain operational status of turbines, and 4) intrinsic limitation to lifetime of turbines (<20 years).
